Acrylic Paintings

Here I did a creative study on a simple subject, tomato’s. I used acrylic paint on canvas to achieve it. This was done from direct observation over a day. I wanted to concentrate on the principles of color theory and color mixing. The piece emphasizes the richeness and depth by layering acrylic paint to create rich color, shadows, and highlights.

Inspired by the colors of the desert sunset, this acrylic painting explores the relationship between color, light, and composition thru rendering techniques using a warm, earthy palette, and dramatic lighting. The piece captures sense of isolation and resilience within the landscape. Careful color blending and value shifts bring textures to the fallen tree and depth to the composition.

Wanting to capture the effect of the water surface and how it plays with the objects around and below. I created an acrylic painting that captures the dynamic reflections and subtle shifts of color of the water surface only by studying the value of color, transparency, and distortion, I was able to achieve this effect.  Through careful layering of blues, greens, and subtle highlights the painting emphasizes both surface motion and submerged textures below.
